Jo-Anne is an award-winning writer, director and producer who specialises in crafting nuanced performances and powerful interviews from both trained talent and real people. As a graduate of AFTRS, Jo-Anne brings bold stories to screen across commercial content, drama and documentary.
Jo-Anne also has extensive experience working with children and animals, as well as many incredible artists including Danielle Cormack (Wentworth, Rake, Underbelly Razor), Martin Sacks (Wonderland, Blue Heelers), Jeanie Drynan (Muriel’s Wedding, Paper Back Hero), Shannon Ashlyn (Wolf Creek II), Ben Mortley (McLeod’s Daughters, Lantana), sound designer David White (Mad Max Fury Road, The Railway Man), colourist Trish Cahill (The Hobbit, Hacksaw Ridge) and two-time Golden Guitar winners, The McClymonts, to name a few.
In 2016 Jo-Anne directed and produced her debut feature film Zelos in partnership with Screen Australia, Definition Films (The Water Diviner, Samson & Delilah) and The Steve Jaggi Company (Rip Tide, Chocolate Oyster). Her first feature documentary, Bone To Pick, is currently in development with Screen Australia.
Her short drama and documentary films have aired on SBS and have screened in film festivals across Australia and around the world, including most recently, in the Academy-Accredited competition at Flickerfest.
Commercially, she has created TVCs and content for brands including Red Bull, Samsung, Virgin Australia, Coles, NAB, ING Direct, First State Super, Headspace, Tourism Australia, Cochlear, Colonial First State and Greenpeace.
